Need new ones, does anyone redo these? Thought I saw something on that a while ago. Pelican is listing them but out of stock. Nice to have heat where I live!

I think so. I can take photo so you can compare to whatever you have left.

If you have a welder you can order cheap new ones for a VW bus, from JC Whitney. Grind off the weld on top of the control arm, spin it 145 degrees & weld it back in the new, correct place. Blue tape is @ 145 degrees from the current position of the arm.

Ian, it's not a big deal @ all. You can order 2 new ones from Whitney, mark them where they need to go & then either grind off the weld yourself or have it done @ the shop where you take it to be re-welded. It's a simple spot weld or 2 & would take 10 minutes for both. Originals & the ones for the bus are both manufactured by Dansk & the only difference is the price & where the arm is welded.

I have a set for sale in the classifieds. Solid with only surface rust. Fully functional and you can knock down the surface, clean and shoot with some hi temp paint, install and be warm again.

I'd prefer good used over new replacement.
The new ones are made for buses, not 914s.
There's a bit more of a difference than simply reclocking the arm.

Ian, if needed, I can sell you new ones off the shelf and we can do the mods here.

That's great Chris, I need 2, see you in a few weeks, I plan on staying overnight so if you could recommend a reasonable and clean motel close to you that would be appreciated.

Not only is the arm at a different angle,
the tube for the hose to body connection is at a different angle as well.

Good thing I'm bringing a truck! Wife wants me to pick up a dining room set while I am stateside, can't get what she wants in Canada!

Damn Chris, I should have realized that when I compared stock vs. bus. Think the hose is flexible enough to get around the straighter angle?
