Showed the car for the first time at Stanford Hall VW show yesterday in the UK. I shipped the car from California a couple of years ago and have fully restored her. Lovely weather for it (it didn't rain and we got sunburned - that doesn't happen often in the UK), a great day out, and met some interesting other 914 folk - its always useful to compare notes and fun to see who the owners are...
Driving up:
Serious driving face:
Cup of tea stop at the services:
Final polishing and buffing:
Excited to come across DYPC (Camper Van Crisis ... anyone?)
And only Nigel himself:
It all got a bit too much and I had to stop for a siesta:
Kev914 was judging and was scrupulously fair and would not be bribed even with champagne and strawberries. We got a very respectable 5th place - we would have stormed it if I had not forgotten to put the jack back in the car, and if Kate had cleaned the wheels a little bit more. Oh well, next time!
