I am installing a carbed engine and was wondering if I can run the low pressure carb pump off of the same wires that the FI pump used. If there is no ECU then there would be no cut off like with D JET right ?

There is a slightly updated version of this in the tech articles:

yes you can bruce. you'll need to alter the stock pump plug to work on the wire ends to fit the lp pump.

When you think you're going to install that engine? Would like to be there to help and take notes for my future install.... beerchug.gif

I can put this here or in the "What did you do to your 914 today" thread. If I may hijack, I'll put it here.

This is a -6 project I bought that was supposedly complete...Well you know how that goes. After two years of complete disassembly I'm now getting close to having the engine back in.

I found the original fuel pump wire and cleaned it up. It has a small break in the insulation that I will at least tape, tho I may put new aftermarket connectors on it. I'll decide later.

It came with a Facet fuel pump. From the connectors on the pump, it was hooked to the coil or something as they definitely weren't the right ones for the stock fuel pump leads. And I have a trashed wiring harness that I steal wires and bulbs from. I'll take a brown wire from it to use for my ground.

And here's that wire with new ends soldered on and heat shrink added.

My solders always looked bad and seemed insecure. Then at the last MidAm Ramble in Muskogee OK two years ago, A&P Girl gave us a primer on soldering. Now its easy and they look great. Thanks A&P Girl and Sir Andy and 914World. I'm wired.
