Occasionally my 901 side shifter will not shift to 4th and 5th (3rd&4th) but since I'm using and not abusing the 3.2 litre motor I'm not sure if I have a bushing problem in the shifting linkage. When I get under the car and remove the dust cup I can rotate the linkage and the car will shift normally. Does this indicate bushing replacement? Thanks for any imput.

Check the cone set screw on the shift coupler right after the firewall. If it is lose, you'll lose a shift plane, usually 4/5 or 1/R.
