There are certain things that are commonly regarded as myths in the 914 world. These include things such as:

- The "Grasshopper" LE
- A truly original rust-free 914

It made it all the way out to SLC two years ago. Through the murderous heat of the Nevada desert in late June. Only one episode of vapor lock, even!

Of course, it lost 2nd gear during that trip. And has hardly seen the road since then. But still...

That was a Grasshopper tribute car, put together by Jeff Bowlsby. I've seen it in person a couple of times--and a few more before it got the green added.
