My rear trunk lid gaps are off. The right side of the trunk definitely has a wider gap.

What's the procedure for getting this shifted over? Does it involve lots of cussing?

Step 1: Check the hinge pivots to see if they're broken or breaking. You'll never get the gaps right if they are.

Step 2: Open the lid. Loosen the two bolts that hold each hinge to the lid. Move the lid around, tighten.

Step 3: Close the lid, check fit.

Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you get sick of them, or until you like the gaps.

Some people have had luck tightening the bolts again until the lid can just barely be moved, then doing the adjustments with the lid closed. Then open, tighten the bolts, close, re-check the gaps.

If the gap is parallel but just wider on one side than the other, loosen only one side at a time. .

1) break loose the 2 bolts on the side that is too narrow only , just crack them 1/4 turn
2) push the lid in the direction you want it to go by holding the hinge and press the deck lid with your thumbs. .
3) you may have to have someone else tighten the bolts while you are exerting thumb pressure
4) shut lid and check alignment Better?? Need more??
5) If you need more, go to the other hinge, same procedure except push the hinge on this side. . what you're doing is preloading pressure to shift the lid

Hope this makes sense,

Thanks guys!! Sounds like not too much cussing should be involved!!
