Is there a correct way any pics.just got Mikey's rubber straps

I share this inquiry.

I have dragged through all photos I can find to find out the jack is supposed to be mounted. They all seem to show the jack just on the periphery of the photo and teasingly not the full detailed photo.

Help would be much appreciated

This was how the jack was mounted on my car but I think I flipped it 180 degrees (to keep the sharp edge in the corner).

The picture in the owner's manual has the base of the jack to the left.

On a related note...where can I get a value-priced (this is not a restoration) jack, handle, and socket? 1974 2L.

not concourse, use a jack from just about any later year 911 from the 70's up to the 90's

Also, Chris Foley may be able to help you out, not sure though.

classic Beetle jacks may also work, and you may be able to buy those online brand new.

The early VW jacks are not the same. The 914 one has a longer attachment to clear the 914's doors.
