Sorry Kevin, all my CHTs have a Bosch Number on them.

While we are at it I have identical cht gauges on #2 and #3. Worlds apart in that they are on two banks and also one is fore and on is aft, far from cool air and penalized by the oil cooler. How much difference would you expect? I mean before I messed with the motor.

Rhodyguy, what CHT are you talking about? A stock fuel injection type one that threads into the head? A ring-type thermocouple that goes around the spark plug? Something else??

I cannot find that number among the possibilities at my favorite FI site

But it could be a bug or bus part...any VW logos?

Can you use a thermocoupler type for a 1.7 d-jet? My threads for the cht on the head is all screwed up.

No, you cannot use a thermocouple for the FI. Completely different principle, different readings, different all around.

The thermocouple would be for a gauge.
