HI,

the transmission had a leak at the rear bottom nut. now there are more...

first please... what size tool would I need for "A" and "B"??

"C" is where a drop was hanging that I wiped off.

"D" looks to be the source of those drips nearby.

from looking at the pelican diagram, I am hoping that numbers 6 and 17 are

all I need to buy?? not sure about "C" as I can not determine what gasket/seal

I should buy from the diagram.

your thoughts please and any tips.

thanks

randal

The tool is a 17mm allen. I have a Hazet wrench with a 17mm allen on one side and a 21mm box end on the other. You can buy just a 17mm allen socket to fit your ratchet.

That looks too clean to actually be in your car. biggrin.gif

it's not "actually" in the car

I doubt that 6 is the culprit. Likely speedo drive O-ring, O-ring for shifter console (17), and are you sure it is not engine oil? Input shaft seal can end up down there, but so can engine oil.

Just buy the whole transmission gasket set and change everything. Or just change the gaskets/O-rings that you need and save the rest. It's not to difficult to re-seal the tranny.

If you are not in a hurry, I can send you the two O-rings. I have a few spare ones. PM me and I can maybe get them out tomorrow.
