I have two loose wires in my engine bay.
I need to know if they need to be tied off or what they were for.
The car has a single carb so I assume they may have been part of the FI system.
White wire coming out of harness near the distributor.
Black wire coming from below on the passenger side head.
Car runs ok so these appear to not have a negative effect. I think.

I would tape off the white wire. I think it is a positive wire that would go to the auxilary air regulator on the FI.
The one from the tine is the cylinder head sender.

White wire is for the Aux Air Reg, it s 12V constant so don;t let it touch ground anywhere.
Black wire is the head temp sensor. you can just leave it abandoned.
Both are part of the FI.

If the white wire shorts any idea what it will take out?

Sure. It'll take out the circuit 15 wire (key on power) all the way to the ignition switch, and probably the switch itself. Being in the harness, it may also take out the tach wire, the oil pressure light wire, and maybe even the brake and tail light wires.

I guess I've lucked out so far. Will isolate it now.

Even though my is used with the FI. I put an inline fuse holder on the wire. Just in case.

I think it would just make the fuel pump fuse on the relay board pop...

About 5 cents worth of electrical tape will cap those off. Maybe spend 10 cents and be sure.

Go with the stock FI system and plug the wires into it.
