Full Version: Correct distributor # for a '74 2.0

I'm looking for a replacement stock distributor for my '74 2.0 fuel injected, but want to make sure I have the correct part number.

I think it's Bosch #0-231-174-011, VW# 039-905-205A. Are these the correct numbers? If not, what's the part # I should look for? And ... will any other distributor work? (Note: I'm not interested in going with a 009 and carb set-up).

That is the correct # dizzy for a '74 2.0L....same one I have in my '74. You could try using a dizzy from a '73 or '75/76 but it won't be optimum for your setup. I've not tried it so I can't speak from experience....probably would need to recurve the advance if you used one from a different year.
