I lusted over this car...Chris lured me in, let me drive it, I really want it...

It's a well-done example, and it pushes all the buttons: wide body, big tires, 3 liter six cylinder (the sound when he fired it up made my neck hair stand up), and it's the perfect color. Overall, a great little car, the epitome of what I've come to expect from the Porsche 914. If I had a warehouse for all the cars I'd like to own, that car would be in it.

Came *this* close to closing the deal on this brute but decided instead to keep going on my own '74 2L (4cyl) project...Go see it, you'll like it.

I like that. Organise packing it up and delivering to docks for UK a possibility?

I think that could be worked out.

Bump for a great car.

I'm looking for a 914 right now, but this one is unfortunately outside my budget.

Very nice conversion!

Ditto. Did it sell? I keep revisiting this ad and trying to talk myself
out of expanding my budget.
ChrisFoley
I received a deposit last week.
The buyer is planning to bring a bank check for the balance this weekend.

No, the buyer pulled out.
He just called to let me know a big business deal arose and he needs to keep those funds available until the deal secure.

Nice car, do you know the engine specs on this car from the rebuild? Like what cam/piston/head combo was used?

I don't have specs. Everything we know is from the teardown.
All parts appear to be stock 3.0 Porsche. Heads are '78. Case is 1983. Cams are later style.

Is the car officially gone now? There's been a couple close buyers in the past.

Is the car officially gone now? There's been a couple close buyers in the past.

The near-buyer from CA stopped by yesterday since he was in New England dropping off a child at college.
Now that he's seen it up close he wants to be on the reserve list too. first.gif

Email from the buyer late yesterday said the balance is being mailed today. beerchug.gif
The new owner is also having us do a couple things before he takes delivery.
deputydog95
What's he having done?

I know it's probably too little too late, but if the deal goes sideways with this guy...

Call me first! hissyfit.gif

I may have a set of TSW wheels for sale, once we find the correct replacements.
Changing out the seats and some minor interior details.
Installing a PMS GT oil cooler shroud.

Edit 09/05/14: Full payment received. The deal is closed. piratenanner.gif
