I just received my set of Diamond Race Wheels, lightweight steel wheels in the Porsche lug pattern of 5x130. the wheels are 15" x 10" at approx 20lbs a wheel




I have a set of used radial Hoosier Formula Atlantic fronts mounted on the rims. My prior set up was cantilevered biasply slicks on a set of 15x7 cookie cutters. The cookies and canti's weight was 33.6 lbs and the new steel 15x10's and radials weight is 40.2. They were approx $150 each shipped!!!

Never heard of someone bragging up a weight gain.....and unsprung weight to boot.
I was always leery of the FA tires. They are designed to support a car weighing 1000 lb or less. My AXer came on at about 1700 lbs so I was very weigh conscious......but I gotta admit, the wheel price is right. My 16X10s weighed 11 lbs ea.....not a friendly price. .....but light weight helps all the time.

Wide wheels up front gave me an incurable push......scrub radius problems, me thinks.......cured with narrower wheels (8 inch) & cantis.

JP I didn't intend on "bragging up a weight gain" just was looking for an alternative to the high dollar light weight wheels in a 15X10 with a 5x130 lug pattern. The diamond race wheels were the only alternative in a 15x10. I was having a hard time finding cantilevered slicks, as an alternative I found a set of used R25b FA tires. I was wondering about the FA slicks on a 1800lb car also. The Formula Atlantic has a considerable amount of Aerodynamic down force so that should be added to the thought of an 1000lb car. I am sure I will have to make an adjustment on the front wheel setup in the future. I may try the American Racer tires on my next purchase. If I can get them to work there is a plentiful supply of Used FA tires.

I know that car! It ran on the west coast a long time, and it was affectionately known as the "Purple People Eater".. Well setup and very fast. I just saw the PO last month at Buttonwillow and Laguna Seca.... Really glad it went to a good home. Looking forward to your continued updates on it.

I knew the term bragging was a poor choice.

God knows I tried to find a good tire/wheel set up. I finally settled on 8X15 Fuch in front with R35 cantis. 10 X 16 with 10X22.5, R35s in back. Strange but effective. Good enough to take any Porsche we came up against......& classs wins National Tour events...with Brit driving. I was old & slow....fit for tire warming only. The 914s front suspension is a limiting factor.....one can't get enough wheel backspace in here.

Brit took care of that when he bought the car......Lotus Elise front suspension. Geting that on there was no small chore.....think he runs 11s or 12s up front now......then Goodyear quit making his tires....now he has problems.

If you're lucky, you too will get old (& slow) and pitched onto the scrap heap of life......but I am still kicking from up there. I suppose you've never heard of "Do not go gentle into that good night".

Please keep us updated on the FA tires.. Will be interesting to see how they work out because of the availability of used ones. I've got a local source

I have been very happy with the FA tires during the first event with the new tire and wheel set up. First the added weight was evident in the how the car pulled out of the corners. the grip level was better than the the canti's I had been running. Having never run A6's I can not say how they compare to the A6's. I am still trying to find the optimal air pressure for the FA's started at 28 cold and worked down to 26.

Ouch, it looks like that rim has a ding on the bead already, did they ship like that??!!??

Curious what size 6 you have, I'm 2300lbs. with a 3.0, and getting ready to put on some new wheels and probably A6's myself.

Yes I received the rims like that, there is a slight bend on the lip. Looks like the box was dropped in shipping, the bead is fine and the wheels are strait. just the outer edge of lip was slightly bent.

I have a 2258cc 4 with the car weight at 1800lbs
