HI,

the fuel tank strainer came with "B" are those to replace "A"??

why, is because A is somewhat flexible like a gasket where b is not.

I've never seen metal washers for the tank fittings.
The originals and the ones I sell are like a hard cardboard.
The metal ones will probably work. The assembly tolerances are fairly close.

I used copper washers to replace the masonite ones when I rebuilt mine. I think you should be safe.

I also removed the strainer thing. Since I completely refinished the inside of the tank and put a real nice filter on the other side of it, I didn't see the point.

thanks for the replies...

I too have cleaned the inside and used a rust converter.

thanks again.

Teflon washers work.

What is that fuel filter from? It's not the stock one that I know of...

My strainer came with metal washers. And that's the fuel filter the local Porsche shops here sell. Forgot the brand.

I would use the sock if you have it. Fuel is dirty.

Your sock looks bigger than the one I got

I would keep the sock, you would be amazed what gets into gas tanks, it doesn't take much to block off the end of the copper tube and give you a mystery stalling problem.

With a cleaned up fuel delivery system I see no reason not to retain the tank strainer. First line of defense.
