I saw this on another site...nice looking 914 GTU at the Monterey Historic Races.

The car was beautifully restored by Jim Hendrix of John James Racing.
This car was raced by Alice and Richard Graves from 1983 to 1984 in the IMSA GTU class, it also has a long history of SCCA races and a bunch of track records in the Midwest. A friend of mine sold the car about 2 years ago with the logbooks going back to the 1970s.

It was pitted right next to us. I went over and gave it a good looking over, real nice car. Wanted to strike up a conversation with the driver, but kept missing him.

Thanks for the link to the photos which I enjoyed. I've seen several of these cars here on the east coast, at historic events at Daytona, Sebring, Atlanta and Savannah, but a lot of them are high end cars that probably stay in their collections and the big events. I hope to make it to the Monterey Historics in the next couple of years.
