watched the episode last night, interesting addition of a vw window in back, but overall very classic design.

would nice to see what they would do on a 914.

all that trouble for the oval window; i would have put in the split window.

When he drew up the initial pics, I swear it did have the split window. My guess is that the donor car was hard to come by.

The wheels keep changing on the reveal. Looks like they had a custom design and then switched back to a classic EMPI? They don't talk about the wheels at all like they usually always do. I like that he added the swept mirrors which he always deletes. Would like to have seen a chrome trunk handle to match. That is such an iconic piece of a 356. Love the stitching on the seats. Very nice look.

Not a huge fan of that car or the "design." I appreciate what they did, but It's not for me. Kinda "bastardized" it. IMHO
rhodyguy
why THOOSE wheels? same shenanigans as the europa. i liked it right up to the point of installing a set of his one off blingy wheels. then, disappointment.

I've worked with him and he's that nice in person too. You should see the doodles he does when he's on the phone. My co-workers would grab them as soon as he walked off, his work might not be for everyone but the guy has some serious talent IMO......

I'm ok with the car, would have kept the chromies though. And the front hood chrome.

Fer sure.
I know another fellow who turned his dream into reality up here in Ontario.
Builds race equipment. His dream started when we were kids in school at the back of the class.Drawing cars and such.
Chip was there once and it's likely the teachers frowned on the practice like they did
at our school in '67.So the success he's had has been won over the naysayers that pop up.Think first to make it real,Work second to realize the idea.
You can do it.

While I really like the american cars that Foose has done, I am too much of a purist when it comes to this car. Sorry, hate the rear window and wheels. IMHO it's like putting huge flairs on a speedster.

I agree on the rear window & wheels... barf.gif

Interesting collaboration. Rod and Gary's cars are pieces of artwork.

I recall the Excellence spread on the POLO 356 Outlaw, have a copy right here.
Truly, art's finest expressions, these jewelled constructs of our imaginations.
If you think it,it will be.
Funny thing,a brother in law drove his light met green 356 to work every day for years .I thought at the time ('72)it was a quaint relic of the past. The 914 however was a game changer, mid engined, like the winning 917.
