I went to look at a rusted parts car that was advertised to have a 915 installed by the po, the current owner not being familiar.

The shift for reverse was left and up.

I did not crawl underneath (raining etc.).

Is there a reasonable possibility that the 915 shift pattern was changed somehow?

That's a 901 shift pattern. 915 is, on my '83 SC, right and down. I vote not 915.
