Looking for a rear heated window, and a factory rear wiring harness.

I have one but not sure if it works. Is there a way to test the wires with a meter? I didn't think to save the harness when I removed the window from the donor. Bill

The wiring for the rear defrost is very simple to make. IIRC it is just two wires. I may have one to photograph for reference. But, you will also need the rear defrost switch to make it all work.

Here is the wiring installed. It is basically one brown and one green wire. It runs behind the backpad and then down through the center tunnel opening. I haven't removed it so, I don't know where or how it terminates. But at some point it must connect to the defrost switch at the dash. I don't have an extra one of these, just the one for my project. Before you buy the glass, make sure it is working as many of these are non functional.
brown - driver's side
green - passenger

Umm ... Not as simple as that.
It goes both to the relay panel for pwr. and to the dash switch for activation.
I have removed them and in fact I probably have one available as well.
The factory routed it THROUGH the eng. bay wiring "snorkle" which means if you want it original looking you have to fish wires.
Let me find a pic.

I never said routing the wiring was simple, as it disappears into the center tunnel and passes to the rear of the car. I mentioned that making one is simple, if he could not find one. Of all the wiring harnesses on the 914, this appears to be the simplest one to replicate and wire in. I would imagine the power could be drawn from different areas of the car, maybe the fuse panel. I was only trying to show him how it goes installed in the car for reference. Jeff Bowlsby would probably know the best way to find an alternate source for the power source without causing damage to the switch or defrost grid. I believe Jeff did get his hands on a new OEM one of these a few months back for replication. He may already be making them new. Just trying to help a fellow member out.

I just tested the connections from one side to the other and there is no continuity. I would assume there is a break in a wire somewhere. Not sure but I've heard that they can be repaired.

Does it really matter which side the green wire goes to? It is just a big resistor.
