Are all fresh air intake boxes the same? All years the same? 914-6 and 914-4 the same?

I need a replacement for my 1970 914-6 box...

I am at least 99% sure that they are all the same.

I think the boxes/plastic are the same, but have been told that some of the internals, and maybe some clips etc, have changed thru the years

I may have one that will work for you. It is still in a parts car.
