bump.
Can anyone recommend a engine shop that can and actually has experience balancing 914 engines? Most of the engine shops around Minnesota say they think, they can balance the engine. I don't confident with their answer to give them my engine parts. I can ship the parts any where in the US.

Perpetual Balancing in Arlington, WA does mine.

There has to be a balance shop local that does good work. Look for a shop that only does balancing. Ask do they remove material from the botom of the pistons or the pin, do they balance parts separate and then together, rods both ends?

Maybe ask some of the local muscle car guys where they got their engines balanced.

Hi,
He's in MN. Shops on the coasts aren't much of a help.
