I purchased this car from Jake Raby in the Spring and it was a very nice car started by Rick Fuerstenberg of this site. Rick did a great job of getting the car to a very presentable state. Things changed and Rick sold the car to Jake. I saw the car posted by Jake and after a few short discussions purchased the car. As I stated the car was well sorted mechanically - cosmetically it was more of a driver/AX car. What started as a quick cosmetic refresh turned into a full resto.

I had my body guy do a complete respray in the correct Berber Yellow. The existing paint job was done well but the color wasn't quite right. The body was pretty straight but now it is perfect on every panel. Custom steel valances and rocker covers were made to flow into the steel flares. Front steel bumper was reworked to accomodate the new Patrick Motorsport oil cooler setup. Rear single tip valance was redone to work with the twin tip MK muffler which looks and sounds great.

I removed all of the chrome trim and had all parts powder coated in a color to match the RSR finish as well as the wheels. Still waiting for my mirrors to be finished up. My finisher at the office painted the wheels and also hand painted the center caps.

Interior was gutted and I installed all new carpet and the best trim pieces I could find. The seats arrived last night from Renegade Hybrids - they did a nice job (better watch my diet as these things are snug). Still need to finish my plans for a modified fresh air system and stereo.

Last piece of the puzzle is the rear bumper pad which I need to source (anybody who has one please let me know).

Just got the car back after a full tune up and new Bilstein's on all four corners. What a difference in the handling.

Well what do you think?

The last time I was in High Performance House, Rich had that piece. I think it was a repro from 914rubber.

Do folks ever run 16's in the rear with 15's up front? I have some rubbing under hard breaking in the front - top of fender. I have new struts and shocks all around. Would this help? Any handling pro's or con's? Thanks.

Wow the car looks fantastic. Love the powdercoating of the trim to match the frosted look on the RSR type wheels. I know Rick and I'm sure he'll be happy to see these pics and know that you did such a fine job with the car he originally conceived! All the best with it!!

What about resetting the ride height or stiffer torsion bars. Whatever you do, don't keep driving it with heavy braking since you could burn through the paint if the steel gets hot enough.

Great looking car!

I prefer the 16's anyway. I don't know of anyone running 15's in front with 16's in back. I'm sure it's been done but don't see how it's going to benefit. The way I understand it your rubbing is happening up front anyway. So how would putting 16's in the back change that? What size tires you running up front? What width Fuchs are you running up front 7 or 8's. Is the rubbing on the outside edge or inside edge on the top of your fender?

Love your car by the way! Nicely done piratenanner.gif

Nice looking car ( much like Eric Shea's and my conversion as well), so I love the paint color scheme.

If it's like mine, don't spend too much on the stereo, you really can't hear it over the engine ( and why not listen to that wonderful sound)!

I have seing many with 16, but i think if you run 15 with TB,15 it wont rub. Mine do not rub and as you can see its looks like it rubs, but nothing, and its very close to the wing.

Love the way it looks !

Renegade Hybrid seats. They have two different designs. I have the lower bolsters. I couldn't imagine getting in and out of the ones with the higher bolsters. Very good quality.

I was rubbing on top in front. Just had my mechanic replace the front struts and seems to have solved the issue. Now I want to slowly lower the front a little to improve the rake.

Liebe,
Are your rears 8" with a 10.6 offset?

You have completed the vision I had started the car looks very nice. I poured a LOT into that car in sweat equity and a few dollars biggrin.gif . I still remember the day Brian, TC and my friend Gene installed the engine/tranny at the side of my house like it was yesterday ! But as stated things changed and I decided to get rid of it. I am currently working with Jake on a " secret " engine for my Boxster S that will make it a GT3 eater !!! Enjoy the car " we " did good ! beerchug.gif

You're running 8's all around. Try a 7 up front. Or... have your front spacer milled down or removed if you're running one. You're really close to the lip. I had that issue with 2 944 spacers stacked. I removed one at Parade and it made a world of difference.

I've always liked all of the traditional features of this car. I think they help blend everything together to make a nice "completed" look. Sail panel, black on yellow, nice interior mods. Well done.

I decided to go with a 916 rear bumper after already acquiring a very good rubber piece for the rear bumper from a member here. It is in Sun Valley, CA and I would sell it for what I paid for it, but I will have to look back in my messages to see how much that was.

Those seats look really good. Care to share how much Renegade charged for them? Are they modified stock seats perhaps?

I love everything but the color...but that's just personal taste.

I have the same seats, they are comfy.

Perfect car, lots of hard work...it shows ¡¡
Wheels are hot ! I did mine up in the frosty look when the gt flares went on in '89.
I also dig the 3.0 script on the back aktion035.gif
