I am not a fan of our bow-tie horn button. I tend to accidentally bump the thing quite often.
The hockey puck may not be a pretty, and it looks to be crazy expensive. But I would consider buying one from someones scrap parts pile.
Click to view attachment This is an extra pretty one, I don't need one that pretty or made of leather, unless it's a deal, or free

http://www.sierramadrecollection.com/store...ail&p=12780Man you got me all excited.... I saw the $32 and I was thinking, "that is it". I would save $32 while I spend $399.
Looks like getting the replacement leather center is not a big deal, and the trim ring too. Just need the housing. I have the horn guts on mine now.

Decent used ones go for about $300. They show up on the Early S registry sometimes.
The SWB ones are a larger diameter.

I have an original one, that I started to restore
- the housing is in very good shape
- all screws are new
- the hardpaper rings are all there in very good condition
- the metal parts (snap on mechanism) are already sandblasted and correctly anodized
- the metal ring would need re-chroming
I don't have it available right now, so currently no photos
I would let it go for USD 350.00
but it might take 2 or 3 weeks till I could send photos ...

Yeah, $40 for the base, I saw the leather for
$30 on eBay , someone had the trim ring, use the horn guts from the bow-tie and we are in for <$100. We may have something here.
Show me more.

Zuffenhaus has the complete hockey puck for $2500 on their website. I purchased a complete RS wheel with hockey puck a few years ago. Good quality.

A guy on Early 911S Registry has been making complete reproductions for some time. Some over there who purchased them complained about the "grainy-ness" on the puck base. The product on Zuffenhaus looks to be only the button and ring.

Here's the part The threads are not metric so you will need 3/32 hardware. But only you will know.
I had started making these for a guy that wanted to do reproduction wheels, but these are not 100 % OEM and I really didn't have the time to mess with them. So we parted ways.
I have a few and they aren't doing me any good on the shelf. Got a bunch of time and money tied up and here they are.
I'll have the link up shortly

i bought one, but my 914 steering wheel rubber is loose, plus i still need the trim ring and leather horn button. The trim ring is $150.00 plus the leather horn button is $55.00 or buy both for $250.00 from Zuffenhaus. I will start keeping an eye out at swap meets and eventually get all the parts to build one. Still easier than coming up with the cash to buy a completed one.

Man that looks good! I just took my batwing horn button off to try and figure out why my horn doesn't work, and noticed how much better the wheel looks without it. Did some searching...and I can't believe how much real ones go for!!! I can't even believe how much other vendor's repros go for!!! I'm hoping mark still has plans to make more of these.

the bowtie wont have that problem anymore if you replace the rubber it mounts on.
Thats what i did in the mean time just to keep the horn from going off every time i looked at it.
My tip is though to get the correct rubber buy it direct from porsche its around 13$ all the online ones i tried were shipped to me as uro parts and i hate that china shit.

Mark,
can you make the trim rings?
144$ on ebay seems illogical to me....
there has to be a more affordable way
