You should take it to McMark in Napa.

I don't know anyone in the tri-valley that works on air cooled motors.

If you don't mind a short drive:

Kens Sport tech in campbell
Don Wise's AutoWorks campbell

Try the Bus Lab in Berkeley, 3407 Adeline Street, (510) 658-6400, excellent and not just busses (same T4 engine that's in your car), but also real 914's (the owner has one with a Subaru six conversion). In the South Bay Bugformance in San Jose, couldn't recommend more highly, originally all air but now both air and water cooled.

Denny Kahler, Kahler's Werkstatt, in Dublin. Bauer in Oakland. Probably others, but those are the ones that come to mind right away.

Not sure about Kahlers... They like the modern cars.

They worked on Eugenie's black car back when it was still a 912. And they did the Six conversion on it as well, I believe. I figured they probably still know a thing or two about carbs...
