Did the mechanical part break, or the electrical part?

You should be able to get a new ignition switch from a VW dealer or VW shop.

The mechanic part broke. I know I can buy parts from a V W store. are they the same as the Porsche parts.

Year for year, yes, they're the same. REALLY cheap, too. Should be a 113 905 855B, but I'd look at before buying one.

I have several of them that are marked 111 905 851 N or L
Is the tumbler assembly OK or is it just the housing for the tumbler? I have both in Riverside.
The bottom switch part is about $6 new and the tumbler about $20 with key. Pelican shows the 111 905 851 N at $107. That is the part that the tumbler assembly goes into.
