So when my inner longs were repaired, the attachment point for the seat belt on the drivers side was not put in. now I have this old lathe I've been playing around with and decided to make an insert to weld it there for the bolt. I find a bolt that fits and check the treads and it comes up 1.25, checking it with my tap & die set, its not 10 x 1.25 and the only 11 I have is 11x 1.50.

is this thing really a 11 x 1.25? .. What an odd size

Since I use beetle seat belts that came with hardware that fits the 914, I
did a search: SAE 7/16-20. Which makes sense as it is really close to 1.25mm
pitch and 11mm.

Seatbelt should be a 7/16" thread in the US.

Yep that is what it is 11x1.25. This is what I used to make sure threads were clean.
