Hello, we recently purchased a 73 2.0 from a local family who basically let the car sit for over 25 years. Over the last six months we carefully stripped the car down to the tub, which is now on a rotisserie. In parallel we have been restoring parts (rebuilt two transmissions ala Dr. Evil clinic), and hunting all OEM parts (thanks 914World!)

During the tear down we discovered that the longs and of course battery tray area need significant work, not to mention what's hiding. Front, back, doors and pan are in great shape.

All that said, we are looking for a 914 specialist to make sure the chassis is fixed properly and we expect that the body work will be worth more than the car, but we love our cars smile.gif!!!

Any help finding a local shop would be greatly appreciated, but please note we are willing to ship the car to the right person welder.gif

I suggest you check out Rillo's Restoration in Kent. He's a die-hard Porsche guy. Usually works on 356s and 911s, but I know he's currently working on 1 914.
