My friend is the one who saw the car and it is on freeway and at the car pool lane. He said there was a police at the time he passed the car but no fire truck yet.

If you haven't changed your fuel lines you could be next.

I hope that owner and the car are OK. Seriously. Every 914 should at least have a fire extinguisher on board. In my build we are adding a fire suppression system. Nothing fancy, maybe 3 heads in the engine bay. Hope it is never activated. But after going through all we all go through to build and enjoy these cars, we don't want to see one taken by fire.

A sure reminder that all 914s NEED TO HAVE A FIRE EXTINGUISHER ON BOARD AT ALL TIMES…..!!!!
That is only going to help if you get to the Fire Early!

Don't drive your 914 without one of any type... Spend a little more and get a Haltron H3R type...2.5 lb one is about $130

I've been there with that fire thing, makes a huge mess and the firemen (at least with my car) carry large pry bars. They turned my hood into a taco a few years ago. I will have a few fire extinguishers when I get the new car running

I truly hope it isn't one of us.
That is a bit narrow minded, isn't it?
If he/she owns a 914, doesn't that make them "one of us" anyways?
Not always.
