I'm struggling to tune a spare MPS to my 2.0
I will look tonight but don't remember which part number (1.7 or 2.0) this core MPS is originally from

it finally dawned on me that I remember reading the 1.7 housing does not allow enough adjustability for a 2.0 motor, and I will check to see if that is my problem

which of the different ranges is out of adjustmen in the 1.7 housing? is it the WOT stop?

and more importantly, can I change only the nose cone from my cores box (a 2.0 one) onto this unit I'm rebuilding, or should I change the good diaphram over to a complete 2.0 core?

thanks in advance

Early 1.7L MPS's had a stop ring cast into the cover to limit the diaphragm travel. Use a later 049 or 043 MPS cover so you can adjust the WOT.

Thank you Geoff, I knew you had the answer....

I have a 037 cover handy that was on the top of the pile
is that ok to use? (I believe its the 73 2.0model if memory serves)

or I will dig into the buried box of cores

Brant,

I also have three MPSs.
0280100049 (022906051E)
0280100019 (022906051A)
02801000043 (039906051)

let me know if any of those can be of use to you.
