Stored outside?

Why would you say that biggrin.gif

The stock alternator is new, never used, but is old. No it has not been stored outside, it has been sitting for decades. I'm sorry if this does not qualify as nos.

Most guys expect NOS to be shinny car porn. The galvanic corrosion and oxidation on the aluminum may limit your ability to get a premium, but the market will tell you what you can get.
Best of luck

how many amps does it put out? 35 or 55?
if it is a 55 you would probably be better off cleaning it up some or having it rebuilt and putting it on ebay for the guys in Europe. they would want it for vintage events where they run extra driving lights and need the extra amps. they aren't allowed to run later alts from what i have been told.

No offense, but IMO that does not look like a new unused part (thus the comment about it being stored outside). Something that qualifies as "NOS" means:

- It's New, meaning it has never been installed on anything; and
- It's Old Stock, meaning it has been stocked on a parts shelf for its entire life.

Parts that are new and have been sitting stocked on a parts shelf do not look like this.

Just an opinion.
