My 2.0 has a smog air pump. I have been able to free up the pump but the pulley- assembly has some issues. The pulley turns freely but where it attaches to the cooling fun seems to be broken. Being new to 914 I am not sure how to repair. The part seems to be a rubber compound. Is this part available or rebuild-able? Is it possible to make a metal part to attach the two pieces? being a California car they say it needs to be operational to be able to get smog. Any ideas??
thanks

While I've seen some kluged repairs, in general the drive units are not repairable. I sold my last ones to Rich Bontempi at High Performance House in the Bay Area. Might give them a call. The same parts were used on '73 and '74 VW Busses. Might contact The Bus Boys in your area, too.

It wouldn't pass emissions testing with a non-BAR approved application.

My Car is a 1976 UGG! and has to pass Ca smog. Has anyone fabricated either a rubber or aluminium coupling for these. It looks like I could run 3 bolts thru what is still
there. It is mostly complete and the pieces fit together pretty well. With all the cars needing smog I can't believe someone has not come up with a fix. Let me know if anyone has one
Thanks
