In another thread, McMark mentioned the the Voltmeter would not show a huge drop since Jim had run a dedicated line from Bat to Gage. That made me think of when I was a newbie and noticed a 2volt drop, indicated, and freaked. I asked Ron and was "brought up to date". biggrin.gif Or, in an early post when Andy pointed out to me why my left side parking lites remained on. headbang.gif
What questions do you see that markx a guy(gal) as a newbie? In a good taste of course!

He tore me a good one back in 2004 when I first joined. Regarding the "How do I use the fog lights as Driving lights?"

He never disapoints me when that or a similar question is asked! ar15.gif smash.gif

After sitting here and thinking about all these questions, this should be a "Q & A for the 914 Newbie".

Guess you guys forgot what a newbie goes through. This thread doesn't add to the idea that newbie questions are welcome here, even if they are repetitive.

Ah yes, but once you have spent some quality time with us, you too will realize it's all a joke

As many Newbie questions i asked, they were all answered .

Any laughter was muted enough so i couldn't hear.

This is actually one of the most tender and loving forums on the net. I am always surprised at the lack of wanton flaming and posturing. I just assumed that the unique nature of the 914 attracted just a certain sort of person. Don't be too hard on yourselves, or on the Cap'n!

I discovered this quite by accident - there's a knob on the back of the motor
turn it clockwise & it raises the headlight bucket
turn it anti clockwise and it unscrews out of the motor housing
replace the fuse that you knocked out with your foot and the buckets lower again! (I know, I know, I should get the jwest fuse panel conversion)
this place rocks! take everything with a grain of salt and a flaming from krustovsky is a badge of honor
messix
how does the heater controls work? screwy.gif
messix
I ordered parts from a vendor and they haven't replied/shipped them yet..... it's been 3 days!!!!!!!

unknowing that said vendor is a member here making parts or services as a side job for us to keep these pos's running and does this in their free time outside of family and work.
Dinobx
I've searched the archives and can't find anything on engine swaps.

"Why does most of this forum have a bunch of identical posts to 914club.com?"''

"What does FLAPS mean?"

"Why was my political thread deleted?"

"Are Ron and Slits the same person?"

"Who is Miles? Why does he never post?"

"What is 'Dirk Wright's Disease'?"

"Can I put an electric heater in my 914?"

"What is the sandbox for? Shouldn't everything be in the main forum?"
