This is a really cute 1972 914 Porsche for sale by private female owner in 27101. $15,000.00. Green/black. Chrome is in excellent condition.
Runs very well & turns on a dime this car is ready to be driven. It is so much fun to drive I really hate to sell. Cosmetically It is great from 5 feet; re sprayed in 2008 interior is like new 10 years of service history.
recent tuneup and conversion To electronic ignition. Webbers. Shifts well through all 5 gears. Was a garaged Florida car.
Very good tires and brakes. Targa top was recently re-fiberglassed and painted to fix cracks.
Reason for sale is owner is now having difficulty getting out of this car or any other low to the ground sports car. She hates to admit it, but she is aging! Lowball offers are unacceptable. It's already priced low because I'm ready to sell now
Problems: just a few items I've yet to fix: a tiny ding, missing seat adjustment knob, non functioning odometer, parking brake cable, windshield washer.
Shown by appointment only.[b][size=4][font=Arial Black]Click to view attachment

What engine? Engine and or transmission rebuilt? Any issues whatsoever? Where in Florida is it located?

Engine is 2.0 from a 1978 with 2 webers. Transmission - do not know. No problems in any gears - shifts well. No other issues. It is a great drive and I would be driving it still except I am getting too old to get out easily:-}
We got the car from Fort Lauderdale Florida. The previous owner had her for ten years.

We live in NC

Location and angle of spark plug wire seems to indicate a 1.7 or 1.8 head/engine.

Mechanic in FL and local NC biggrin.gif Mechanic agree that it is a 2.0 based on engine number

Parking brake cables have been replaced and the odometer gear just arrived so it will be fixed soon.

Car is now on display at Americas Auto Mart in Winston-Salem, NChttp://www.americasautomartnc.com//newandusedcars.aspx?ClearAll=1&TypeIDList=1%2c2%2c3%2c4%2c5%2c6%2c7%2c8%2c9%2c10%2c20%2c28%2c46%2c49%2c63%2c65%2c64%2c66&%7e

Looks gorgeous! I love that color and it should go quick!

How was the 5-lug conversion done?

I would double check on the engine though. They stopped making 914's in 76, so a 1978 2.0L would be especially rare!

That's all fine and well but 2.0ltr plugs enter at a horizontal angle and 1.7-1.8ltr enter at a vertical angle. Your picture shows a vertical spark plug wire which indicates 1.7 or 1.8 heads. Just sayin.

perhaps its a GE code 1978 type IV 2 ltr Bus motor

pictures are from website, no dip stick, could be bus 2ltr. w/ hydraulic lifters

You guys know far more about these cars than I.

I was told that it is a Bus motor and that it has Hydraulic lifters.

ask me an MGB question and I might be a little more knowledgeable.

Car is still for sale, just took it out of winter storage and drove it around a bit. Everything is ready to go.
Anyone interested in making an offer on a solid car ready to be driven?

It's spring and I am really hoping to find a new home for my beloved car which I hate to sell but can't get in and out of easily. It is a good, solid car without rust.

friendly advice, I would list the engine code in that hemmings ad to avoid any confusion....
