Nope. I think I was nominated once but there are some awesome cars here. And really my Alien isn't a true 914 in every sense of the model.

But it is "All Porsche" And a real driven car. Sandy and I have logged 10's of thousands of miles crisscrossing the country attending 914 events.

Yep, I've nominated the Alien twice now. Always wondered about a v8 transplant using a "real" engine & when I joined the world a few years back it was one of the 1st questions I asked.

Really a tough choice!!!!

Rick's unique 928 powered 914 must get a nod this time around though - with that sexy 4.7L V8's polished induction. If Porsche had only hung in there with the 914 for a few years more, then they could've actually produced a 4.5L 918!

Gustl's green 914-6 got my nod awhile back, but that's a great shot of the sporto-6!
.... great shots, colors & cars for all 3 really - although lets get a better one of Rick's Alien than him washing it if he continues to COTM.

These pics were taken in our neighbor's yard. She planted Blue's many years ago. Blue is a steel flared, Euro 3.2 w/ 10.3/1 compression with cooler, web cams, chipped, Billy Boat headers(1.75 primaries), Boxster brakes, leather, and re-geared 901 with cooler. Great bug killer and is allergic to jack stands!!!
My wife says this is the only girlfriend I can have!!

Not to put the rest of this beauty down but I love that interior. Custom leather?

The photo is not only cool but really a memorable for me.

And another of my favorite photos taken when we arrived at the WCR in So Cal. We had to wash the bug guts of the car from the trip across country to the event. This really evokes a feeling and sense of the design style and vintage look I was after.

I've lusted since I first saw the posts on the install years ago B.J.(Before Joining).
There is another with a fixed roof from Germany I've posted the magazine article about.
Personal take in design stage,something like what I've posted on PIX.
Much more time required as each stage is time and labour intensive.
Yeah,it does it for me.

That's as close to my colour selection as I've ever seen here on 914W.
You all have seen the latemodel Honda CVX suvs driving around.
The paint from Honda's process is of high quality and deep flake effect.
Out of many choices I picked Celestial Blue from a few years ago.
The colour of the sky around here.
I like the interior's leather too,not pumpkin,lighter,pumpkin interior.
A beautiful car.

Really?I had always assumed it was the top of the top since like forever.
The re+re after a fail and the perseverance to get it done.
Nicely polished blackout finish.
(Always thought a goldleaf accent a la Players would set it off)

I always felt it should have been a COTM for a while as well, because there's nothing "renegade" about it, & I had wondered about this type of conversion myself & like the look Rick chose very much. Now to get some LE's through COTM (also way, way past due)- I'll be nominating Jim & Mel's creamsicle next time unless someone beats me to it.

I kind of tried to nominate someone that would beat me. I've actually done it before.

I think if Old 914 dog would have posted photos sooner he could have been the guy and both Gustl's Sporto or the creamsicle are both deserving. We have so many great cars here!
