EDIT: I think we got it, seems the club server wasted a hard drive


For the last couple of days.

Slow here too Rob, it's timing out on requests for stuff.... I think our route is dropping packets across the great divide.

In Georgia, the signal has to cross the international century line, and by the time it gets back here, to 1948, we end up with a newspaper.

Just turn the page, and see if that doesn't clear it up.

Here is the trace route from here. It is pretty slow, the drive could be the problem in response time for the site to come up because this isnt really a problem. What size drive is it? I may have one sitting here.

yeah, but it's in the array, so you don't actually know what parts of the site (if any at all) actually run off that drive. but usually, even tho the mirror is supposed to take over, you always get some I/O conflicts and bouncing packages if one drive is in burn up mode.

i have to look up the size, i *think* it's a 18.2GB ...

the server is a compaq DL380 ...

Fujitsu / 36GB / 15K / Ultra-320 / SCSI / 80-Pin / Hard Drive

Any prefered brand? Advisable to match the ones that are already there?

yes, they have to be compaq, we need them with the compaq HD-case to slide them into the array (hot-swappable) ...
