Here are some pics from my '70 914 that has a newer steering column put in. You will notice that the steering column support has been cut out on the bottom. I have also taken some pics of the joints. What has to be done to make this work? I do think that there is a "clunk" going on as I turn the steering wheel. I think it is the shafts or the joints hitting the dash area but I am not sure.
What is the difference between the newer chassis and older chassis that makes a difference with the steering column?
