What I am selling is a complete (or as complete as you will ever find) conversion for a 914/4 to a 914/6. This conversion will bolt in to all 914 models. My car is a 1972 914/4 1.7 converted to a 6. I have owned this car (one of five 914s I have owned) for around 10 years and use it to autocross with SCCA. $15,100 Or make me an offer.

On the track or for a Sunday drive, the car is a blast.

Here is a list and description of what I’m selling:

1970 TRUE 914/6 engine *2.0 upgraded to a 2.2 “S” **records suggest a total rebuild in 1995( Patrick Motorsports)

914/6 Engine front mounting bar

Weber carbs 40mm IDA3C rebuilt in 2010 jets and tubes set up as Euro 911 “S” specs’.

Equal length race headers with TRUE 914-6 factory Leistritz muffler

1970 True 914/6 factory engine wiring harness.

Pertronix electronic ignition (no points) with MSD6 AL with rev limiter set at 7000 RPM I will also send 914/6 relay board and cover. Electric fuel pump and regulator.

1970 TRUE 914/6 transmission 914/01 7501547 ** records suggest rebuilt in 1995( Patrick Motorsports).

I converted to a side shift in 2011 (and it shifts like a dream). I have and will send all of the tail shift linkage and 1970 trans end section so you can change it back to a tail shifter.

NEW Clutch 6 puck sport performance clutch custom built for me. I will be sending both tail shift and side shift rods and shifters,

1970 TRUE 914/6 in body oil tank and lines.

I will send all records I have on engine and transmission. This conversion was purchased from Patrick Motorsports of Phoenix Arizona around June of 1995 all parts came from one 914/6 probably a wrecked donor car. The conversion was probably done by a shop because of high quality workmanship throughout.

914/6s came from the factory with 110 HP at the flywheel. I took my car to the local speed shop and put it on the dyno. It ran at 107.53 HP @ 6K with 109.06 Torque at the wheels after an estimated loss of 15% in drive train, so this engine is putting out 123.65 HP at the flywheel. Long story made short, this 44 year old engine is producing 13 hp more than it did new in 1970 .

This will bolt right up to any 914/4 body and half shafts . You will need to cut hole in engine bay on driver’s side to install oil tank in body. If you have a side shift transmission 1973 or later car your shifter will just bolt right up if you have a 1970 to early 1973 you will need to put in the later model shifter and shift linkage.

Check it out on the DYNO!
