i havent had time to research cost on this item,but i really would like to try them.is this a good deal on a mallory.

waste of time....it has points 
The point versions suck IMHO
it can be converted to a "Unilite" with their module....Summit sells them for $90.00...you might be able to find it cheaper or adapt a Pertronix into it.
I have a spare Unilite module that I fried when I accidently connected the ignition hot wire to the negative side of the coil with the Unilite hooked up....let me see if I can repair it (I'm sure I can)...I'd let it go for about $30 or so if it works....
if handy, and you can make a trigger wheel or purchase the correct rotor which has a built in trigger wheel...the circuit can be built for less than $10 if you know how to solder
