Hey guys...

So I'm old and I cant remember...

To remove the rear bumper from a 75 914 is it just the bolts inside the trunk or is there something to do under the bumper itself...

I'm no where near my car to look and want to tackle this tomorrow...

Thanks for the help...

Unplug the license plate lights before you remove the bumper ...

Either way . . . if it's going back on it may be easier to undue the two bolts under the bumper. 17 or 19mm don't recall. If it's not going back on because you're back dating or going for glass, just unhitch it in the trunk. Even if you chose to undue it in the trunk, you might want to break the big bolts in the bumper loose while it's on the car. After it's out you may have trouble getting enough leverage on it.

The unit as a whole is pretty heavy. Remove cover, remove impact bar, then remove the shocks. The task time factor will be about the same. You will be able to see the dimples for the retro fit holes once the bumper is off.
