I was working on my (yellow photo) 74 and noticed the brake reservoir looked different than the one on my (white photo) 70 six. I noticed the clear breather hose was missing. It looked like the nipple had been snapped off. So I ordered a new reservoir.

I pulled off the old one to find there was never a nipple. It is cast with out one. I do see the cap is vented and has a 914 part number on both my cars.

Question, is the non nipple reservoir correct for my 74 vs the one with the nipple on my 70 six?

Is this an early vs late car deal?

The Porsche PET shows a hose clip and reservoir with vent tube.

As i understand it was nipple on early, no nipple on mid and late.
