That was shot at the Tuesday Carmel Concours by the Sea in Carmel. That is Betsy and she takes that car everywhere and loves it. Each time I see it, she has made it cleaner and cleaner. I think it was Panel Billy's car before Betsy purchased it. Good to see good press on the LE cars.

Yup, I make nice cars. Need to get me another one to do as soon as the blue one is done.

Man, that is a beautiful car. I'm not a fan of the white license plates but that vanity plate is a real nice touch and matches the car much better than an original blue plate. I hope I can see Betty's car in person one day, but I've never seen her at any of the 914world events ...

Hey...I know that car...Billy did a great job on its restoration and Betsy did a great job of presenting it. Jim and Betsy Yawn are its bay area owners and its great to see it now and then. They often participate in some of the local Concours and it has won or placed well in several events.

Jim called me a few months ago to tell me about an award they had won. It was great to hear that they were enjoying the car so much.

Aside from her pronunciation of Porsche, are the numbers she cites correct? I had never heard that "1000 LEs were produced - 500 bumble-bees and 500 creme-cicles" stated before. I was under the impression that the number was pretty low, but not known for sure. And she also stated that only 50 are still known to exist. That seems a bit ludicrous to me.

She stated that there are 97 creamsickles left which I believe Jeff agrees with. I also remember reading that up to a 1000 LEs were allotted to be produced but no one seems to know if that amount was indeed produced or if the ratio between bumblebee and creamsickles built was 50/50.
