I am in the process stripping my 74 for paint. I can't seem to evenly compress the tabs under the cowl at the washer base to get them out. I've used a number of different pliers.
Any hints would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jack

Be carefully: you may loosen the paint around the hole. Been there. If it's really tight try getting som PB Blaster under it and into the hole. The blaster sometimes take time to do it's magig, so let it sit overnight.

Take a pair of side cutters (diagonal pliers) and cut off the ears or the hole base. New squirters are only about $8.
