Marv, I dont think you got your numbers right. I looked everything over after all the times were posted and I would swear you were #3. I could be mistaken, but you were in 3rd place after the Silver WRX.
Sammy
I overheard that in April they are having an AX at California Speedway that will correspond with the California Festival of Speed and they will have 7 acres of parking lot to play with, you know I'll be at that one. It'll be nice to have some more real estate. The guys who flatspotted thier tires at the exit or busted up their front spoilers going through the dips will appreciate that.

The people who put this on Saturday did a very good job with the limits that were placed on them, it's my understanding that they usually have a bigger lot but got bumped to this small lot at the last minute. Nothing they could do about it but make the best of it, which they did.

This was my first interaction with the Riverside folks and they made a good impression, very good folks.

Also, in May the OCR is going to be at Streets of Willow (on a Monday to keep costs down), another must go.
Gotta let the car stretch it's legs smile.gif

I also heard that Willow Springs built a smaller track than the streets of willow, about the size of an autocross track. Cool, but that's a long way to drive for something smaller than the streets.

BTW, (just to stir the pot),
if you ran your timed runs in one of the first two or three groups you had a big handicap, the slalom kinda changed as the day went on. By the end of the day a couple of cones were so far out of place that the second half of the slalom could be taken as a straight line if you started out going right. If you started the first gate going left, you were really screwed.

So if you were in one of the first few groups, don't feel so bad about your times smilie_pokal.gif

Yeah I noticed that....I was the first to run, AND in the first run group....they cones were just palced and the corner workers had no idea where to replace them as there were no marks on the ground....

BTW.....I had only 3 timed runs....was one of them an average?

The fourth was the best lap.

Im kinda suprised. Theres only an 8 second differential between the fastest and slowest driver's best lap. We're talking about a 100k + GT3 versus some broke ass narp. Pretty impressive if you ask me.

Nice guy, Elliot.....I used to own that car. It was well sorted and pretty neutrally balanced...at least the car was...SLITS was a little too antsy and spun it good. Once he calmed down it handled well.

Frank on the other hand has an extra two cylinders and 12 quarts of oil hanging out the ass end of a 60 year old design....the 356 basically is a VW with disc brakes....the fact that I beat ANYONE in the twistes is amazing. Even WITH the extra weight in the rear...it STILL pushed, I had to throttle steer to swing the butt around on the really tight last two turns.

When mike came around that final turn he was at FULL lock and it was still plowing. It looked like one of those race cars from the 40s, but sexier biggrin.gif

Man, that car is fun to drive. Thanks for making my -4s obsolete mike dry.gif

Well, I have seen Slits drive before, the tires he was running out there that day were old and hard so he had a slight handicap with that. It made for some nice 360's though. I got one on video and you can hear me busting up in the background. He took off at the start in first then he hit 4th, then grinded it back to second and then did a full 360 spin. It was hilarious. Maybe I will post it if he doesnt say anything later.

Thanks....if I don't sell some of these cars soon....Frank will be up on the block as well.

Fun is being full locked.....frying the inside wheel and STILL going straight....I was able to swing it by backing off the throttle and then nailing it again.....seemed to work.

On the way home some weenie in a mid 90s Mustang tried to pull me off the line and cut in front of me at the freeway onramp...old Frank stood up for himself and stayed with him for two gears and half of third befiore the dickhead backed off and swooped behind me......he gave me a double flying fickle finger of fate salute.....

Life is gud wink.gif

Yeah but you liked that. I know you, if he didnt, you probably would have slowed down to run him into the rails. biggrin.gif
Sammy
Mikey, I already threw out enough 'scuses fer both of us.

No sense gettin carried away, it doan look gud wink.gif

And whooda thunk that darned GT3 would do so well on a track where sweepers would fit on my driveway?

I gotta get me one of them cars.
Marv's3.6six
Hey I was in the first group being timed, the full slalom was there, no straight lines for me!!!!.
I know my car is capable of more cuz I did not launch hard at the start and shut off early at the end cuz I didnt want to damage the car in the "whoop-dee-doo's after the finish lights, like the GT3 did!! Kahblamo!, he peeled that spoiler back like a banana peel! blink.gif
Sammy
I bet that GT3 spoiler costs almost as much as my whole car wink.gif

I locked em up and slid through the hoopties once er twice myself but I got more clearance that some of those cars.

Post away Shalom...my avatar says it all and the spin was done inside the cones, scaring them to death, but I didn't hit one (that time).

And as far as Mikey or whatever name he goes by today...ya wanna buy the car back? Frank would have been a lot faster if you'd lost about 80% of that lard ass you haulin' around and 100% of that ugly face....so there, the gauntlet has been thrown. I await breathlessly your next excuse.

Mine is the last autox I drove was when I was 19.

No excuses, pimple butt....I had fun in a fifty year old car.....

Next time....let's do one run each with the same car.....or better yet, we swap cars and see who has the better (If any) improvement.

Only definitive way to determine whose shit stinks and whose don't....
MattR
Im not sure if I want to take my 912. It might rust in half on the track. But when the 914 is done in the next month or so, you're on pretty boy.
SLITS
Now I know it was Mikey that rearranged the cones for his benefit!

And between the two of you (Aaron & Matt), you couldn't field a car that would last more than 45 seconds....Bring it on!!!
MattR
at least I can stay awake that long lol2.gif

Sammy
You guys are exaggerating, the wheels were not made of stone.
They were wood, and there were two of em, on a chariott drug around by horses. That explains why slits is always talkin bout gladiator movies wink.gif
SLITS
Specifically....Indonesian hardwood and those horses were the HiPro models....fed 'em japalenos....
