914 F8:
Here are some photos of the 914-8 with the factory908 engine installed tight fit.
Nice car: it has a lot of extra goodies that make it unique.
Headlights are two light per side.
I like the outside fuel filler cap, I did the same thing on my 914, it beats opening the trunk every time for gas.
Also the gear shifter rod runs in front of the passenger seat out towards the door and then runs back to the trans.
If any ones has any more photos that would be great to see them.
Enjoy

I don't know about the price but your car at 1500lbs and 300 plus hp at 9,0000rpm.
Talk a bout a Screaming Eagle.
You would be truly unstoppable.

I don't know , were not able to drive it for our selves.
If one works with the Factory and plans a media day for a Porsche Magazine, (Excellence, Panorama)you might get a chance.
I have a diagram of this set up, when I can I will scan and load it.
Thanks

minor hijack for something of interest. note the shape of the fender at the turn signal, and the lense too. did #4 have euro lenses? back to your previously scheduled programing.

The 914-8 was a pre 914, Chassis #914111, I think they produced many one off's for the car.
The front fender is round and the front lens has a lift instead of a curve shape like the current 914's have.
In the Big 914 book from Germany you can see the clay mock up of this idea.
I do not understand the #4 question about euro lens.
In Europe the 914 front turn signal lens is two colors, Bottom white for the driving light used in the cities and the amber/yellow for the turn signal.
In the rear Amber for turn signal and Red for brake and driving light or first position on the light switch.
I hope that I did not mess up your question to much.
Thanks

Thanks Gustl B, for the save.
You know the heat in Florida get's to ones head. Can't remember names???
I was wondering what the #4 was about?
Yes that is Dave, I have those photos somewhere just have to go find them.
Motor Klassik from 1/1990 did the article on this 914-8 and also the Silver 916
Called Jorgs Traum!!! I think that it is everyone dream.
Klaus Parr from the Porsche archives let me look through countless B&W photos, as the day was ending he told me " We also have many in Color photos, Racing 914-6 GT’s, 916 Catalogue etc.
I ask can I see them, It was already 6pm, he said I must come back another day, I was leaving the very next day.

Yes, the #4 car has the same inner fender details too. Really rough pounding and a welding seam from being a pre-porduction model.
Far as I know only the 2 flat 8 cars and the #4 (9141114) car are the only protypes to exist today.

hardly know anything about it ...
apparently it's a sport-o-matic prototype
this car was for sale in Germany for about € 50k (about $ 65k)
don't know if sold or not
don't know if it's complete or not
I was told, that once it belonged to the son of the boss from the BOSCH company
due to the right hand lower corner of the photo it was discovered in '95
sorry, that's all I know
