Full Version: AN Adapters and fittings

Need to some 6-AN to 3/8" (9.5mm) barbed and 6-AN to 5/16" (8mm) barbed fittings. I can find on the web, but was wondering if I can find this stuff locally?

Mostly, just trying to save on shipping. For example, I need this adapter from CBPerformance:

However, I also need these:

1. 45 degree 6-AN to 3/8" (9.5mm) barbed
2. 45 degree 6-AN to 5/16" (8mm) barbed

But CBPerformance doesn't carry these. In fact, the only place I see item #2 (45 degree 6-AN to 5/16" (8mm) barbed) is on eBay and it ships from china.

I'm looking to do a setup similar to this: http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?sho...=241493&hl= except I am using FI so will have the return line (and thus the need for item #2 above.

I could always buy an SS 9.5 to 8mm adapter from Tangerine, but I was just hoping to come right from the SS lines in the tunnel to the tank. Note: My fuel pump is being mounted on rear firewall (not original rear location).

You can see if you have local race or performance shop that might keep an inventory. For example, I'm in north county SD and VW Paradise has all kinds of AN fittings and hoses.

Summit doesn't have the 45 degree adapters. And they don't have the 5/16" barb adaptor at all.

Did you find the Aeroquip part #?
I think they have their entire catalog on the web in a PDF.
Then use that number to search in the Summit or Jegs catalog. I don't think every thing is in the printed catalog.

I think the other company to search is Goodrich.
CB is the only place I found the fuel tank adapter.

Online's best for selection and price, and probably overall best bet. As already mentioned, all those online companies have more stocking numbers than are published, so call to check them before anything else. If you need it RIGHT NOW try speed shops in your area, a good one will have a pretty good selection. Pretty good but not exhaustive, so you may waste some time chasing them around.

We have. Shop in town that supports all the guys who set I e forklifts and equipment. They have tons of stuff and can make up custom hoses. Not bad prices either

They're only open during "work hours", 8-5 M-F, which can make it less than convenient to get there to pick stuff up. Unless you work nearby, or don't work.

One more quick follow up before I get to ordering stuff:

So far my plan for up front is (note: I'm mounting the fuel pump in the rear on the firewall):

1. Supply side of tank --> 6-AN Fuel tank adapter (CB Performance 3288) --> 6-AN Female to 3/8" (9.5mm) hose barb 45 degrees --> 9.5mm 30R9 hose to 9.5mm SS tunnel supply line.

2. For the return: 8mm SS tunnel return --> 8mm 30R9 hose to 8mm-to-9.5mm adapter from Tangerine Racing --> 9.5mm 30R9 hose to 3/8" (9.5mm) hose barb 45 degree to female 6-AN --> 6-AN Fuel tank adapter (CB Performance 3288) --> Return side of tank

AN6 will work fine. 3/8" might even be larger than the original ID of the stock line. I'm running the AN8 on supply and AN6 on return. My fuel pump is a -8 fitting so it works great for my setup. You don't need 400L per hour @ 65 psi like I do.

If you are going to Army Navy (AN) fittings, go all the way and get rid of adapter hoses and the like. It's way overkill for a stock motor but it will be a complete systems

Thanks Mike. I'm going with the adapter because the SS lines are in the tunnel and I dont plan on putting AN fittings on those lines. That and my car has been on jackstands since September.

You can get AN tube fittings like this for the hard lines... I run these on my system. I have no rubber hoses left in my car.
