A new 914 owner from South Africa contacted me about a new FI harness.

His car is a 1970 model year and says he was told the engine is a replacement 2.0L.

Says his engine is a V0 code and refers to thesamba.com list here:

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/info/engine_letters.php

Sure enough its listed as a euro only engine, but I am not familiar with it.

Is it for real? I have asked him for photos, we'll see what it is.

The fact that is shows 1.7, 1.8 and 2.0L engines with that code, I wonder if maybe its a replacement case?
SLITS
VO engines are European only. Magnesium case. Harden and crack like Type 1 - 3 case. Some were brought into the US as core engines. All sizes.

Thanks to Tom Wilson for the information.
