Yes! It's official now! I've bought the car. Earlier this morning the seller and I agreed on the price etc. I'll be picking it up next Wednesday.

I will move the car to a friend's classic car workshop (10 mls to the NE) and start working there:
- drop the engine
- start cleaning all engine parts
- replacing the pushrod tubes and seals
- cleaning the engine bay
- taking off the tins for powder coating ( I can blast them myself)
- taking car of the spaghetti under the bonnet: new hoses etc.
- new tyres (just the original 165/15s - this time from Vredestein @52 euros a piece)

From there I will start cleaning everything under the bonnet etc.

The interior looks better irl than on the pics. Has to do with the flash of the camera. However... I know it's a totally original car, but I have my eyes set on the grey tartan seat covers.

Very cool. Can't wait to see some great pictures of it before you begin work. Best wishes.

Congrats !
914 interiors are not photogenic .

Thanks for posting. Interesting to see the steering wheel has Wolfburg instead of Porsche crest. (I know they were sold in VW dealerships in Europe.) Plus your Flasher and Fog buttons are different than US 914's.

Post more pictures when you get a chance and nice score! beerchug.gif

Cool looking with the Euro parts. Not used to seeing a crackless dash in this part of the country.

Congratulations! Looks to be a pretty nice car. Good luck.

Congrats. What a great day when you get a new 914. I closed the deal on one today too. Details to come soon.

Very nice interior with original radio smile.gif
Very interesting to see the differences between EU and NA models. From what I can see this is a 73 2.0, but it didn't come with the console or the sway bars. Does it have Fuchs?
Also, there is a lot of seat belt going on there, middle passenger idea.gif
Good luck with your project driving.gif smash.gif

I saw that. I was thinking that they may not have required the retractable shoulder belts in EU in that year?

Interesting Decel Valve placement, I kinda like it. Its usually shares the MPS mounting bolt, but that adds more hose length. your location cleans up the engine bay.

That's interesting. I'm still a little puzzled bij de spaghetti-style routing of the various tubes and hoses. I was just thinking about asking for a few pics of a nicely & correctly routed engine bay. 'Well sorted' is the term, I think.

Update: I arranged with my good friend Henk that he will trailer the car behind his BMW to the workshop on Wednesday. Reasons for having it trailered:
- forecasts are really bad for Wednesday, massive rain... Not something I want to experience in an unfamiliair little sportswear
- tires are old
- I want to be sure that all oil is off the exchangers before I drive the car. I'm afraid I'll poison myself inside the cabin with the targa on when the oil is burned...

A said, it's only a few miles to the workshop. And really, it's one straight straight road, no bends, but next to a deep canal...

A pic of the shop where the car will undergo some cosmetic attention...
