It's a so called 'Concours-ready' car. Well, even with my limited (thus far) 914 knowledge, I can see some flaws...

On the other hand: these guys are already around for a few years. And they know the market in Europe.

Looks a lot like a US spec car. The VIN is 474xxxxxxx which contradicts his claim as a 1973 model year. Are the VIN's different in Italy?

I agree that ours likely a 74. Besides the vin, a 73 2.0 would have had Fuchs alloys, chrome bumpers, and silver button gauges. The horn button is cool though. It doesn't have the Porsche crest. I haven't seen one of those before. The seatbelts look different too.

73 or 74... where are the titties? Warts up front = titties for 73 in the front, & front & rear for 74. To me it looks like a US spec car that had everything done to it to make it euro, except shaving the warts off.

Mine has the Wolfsburg crest on the horn button as well. I think I've read somewhere that European cars had that because the were sold as VWPorsches. My car even has the Wolfsburg crests on the hub caps.

Original European cars do not have the 'PORSCHE' sign on the engine bonnet. Another give-away is the side marker. It's not on European cars, bar Italy, I think.

Correct: no script across engine bay, VW-Porsche rear badge, Wolfsburg steering wheel instead of Porsche, KpH speedo, euro lenses. Were the warts required in Italy? If warts were required in Italy then my previous post could be wrong regarding the titties.

it doesn't say "model year 1973" - it says "built year 1973"

that's very likely true, because model year 1974 started in August 1973 and the car is VIN #05449

this is only correct for US market cars
this seems to be an Italien market car - there were no bumperettes

Thanks Wolfgang. Note the D jet ECU appears to be painted black- never seen that before. Battery tray appears to have been "tared" to prevent corrosion. My Dad did that to my LE. Also note there's no defrost indicator light/box in the center console. Not familiar with the seat material either.

It's curious that it is shod with four steelies and it has a Mahle gas burner spare. My preference would be for the other way round!

At those prices for a 914/6 the 904 from the first link is a bargain.

It is not the only car, whose worth has becoming increased only by chanching the price label behind the front windshield.

Classic 911 Models and more and more the 914 too, are only an object of speculative
forcing up prices.
