Im getting my car back together...it' new to me. The horn works when I connect the brass ring to the shaft of the steering column.. But with the wheel and horn pad in place, it doesn't.
Can someone suggest what is missing and how to connect my horn?

You need the plastic horn plunger. What year is your car. You have a late wheel with an early plastic wheel hub.

It's an early car based on the wiper switch on the dash. Needs horn contact ...
Well, I redid the link. Hopefully it works as it is a link to Pelican Parts for the Horn Contact.

Thank you for the replies... I will see if I can source one of those horn buttons locally here in Australia.
The car is a 1970 ex USA..
I didn't realise that my steering wheel was a later model (I am new to 914s).. will this affect the operation of the horn once I get the button? Also, is there meant to be some sort of additional wire coming through the centre of the steering wheel shaft, that is a ground? does it connect also to the plunger/button? Mike.

This second one is listed as 73mm 914-347-832-01-OEM

You need the longer horn plunger. A late wheel will work. It's not a perfect fit but still works fine.
