I made a bike rack for my 914 years ago and I don't use it anymore since my new bike (cannondale lefty) won't work with it. I just put it up on evil-bay and should've offered it to you guys first. It's pretty cool and I would like to see someone use it.

I'm in....looking for anything that'll make me want to ride more.

I won about 3 grand in Vegas a couple years ago and bought a new roadie trying to bribe myself into riding more and it worked for a couple weeks. I really enjoy riding, maybe riding and a teener will be what it takes...just hope it doesn't rain ohmy.gif

Nice to know I'm with some fellow bikers. I used to race heavily, Cat 2 and Semi-pro cross country, Now I just do the "fun" events. 24 hours of moab, ect ect. Most of my riding is to and from work 4 days a week. And some SingleSpeed Mtn bike rides on the weekends. mueba.gif
DrifterJay
right on...should ride the 24hrs on the singlespeed...

I raced USCF for 5 years including a year in France when I was in college (ah those were the days!).

Bowlsby is a roadie too.

As far as 914 bike racks go I figure that some day I'll get a beater targa top and then just bolt a bike carrier to it. That seems like the easiest way to go.

That bike rack on ebay is pretty cool. If I didn't already have a Yakama on my spare roof, I'd consider bidding. I still think it looks odd to have a large bike on a small car, but it gets me to the woods for some rock hopping.

Hmmm....looks like everyone "used to" race ph34r.gif

Including me laugh.gif

Here is a simple rack I made that utilizes the threaded holes under the targa bar that were originally for ski-racks. I fabricated a plate that holds a Yakima bike tight. The rear tire is held in place with a nylon strap that wraps around the brace that holds the taillight inside the trunk.

I've got a template around here somewhere if anyone is interested.

post the template.

I'd be interested in closeups of the front pieces.

Evidently the template is not here, so it must be at the shop. I can get it this weekend and then scan it for a file.

I'll also take some close-up pics and post when I have everything together.
