So my v8 car rear trunk gets blazing hot do to the mufflers being underneath. What type of heat shields are you guys useing , There's so much on- line not sure what would best. thanks

Of the many suggestions you might receive, I'd start with a relatively low buck solution. Try foil-covered attic insulation. It comes in a roll at your local home center. However, it won't stand up to exhaust heat. You'll need a better material for that, but it can get expensive.

Air is a good insulator. Anywhere you can create a boundary layer of air between the insulation material/shield and the trunk metal. Try here:

there are muffler blankets available that can be put directly on the mufflers.

agree.gif Air is a great insulator. Just weld in some sheet steel about 2" off the trunk floor. If that's not doable weld some stand off legs of the sheet steel then attach it to the muffler with large hose clamps. A sheet of Nomex would help but you still need some air flow on one side of the Nomex.
